When my husband comes home from work I hear “Daddy’s home” and they run to the door greeting him with hugs and kisses. My heart is so thankful they have a father who they love. Every once in awhile though I’m reminded of what I missed out on. Seeing my friends with their fathers while I was growing up made me wish with all my heart, I also had that love. The love and bond that is shared between a child and their father. That pain is real deep and it’s hard to heal from-especially knowing you will never have an “Earthly father.” It can leave you feeling alone, not good enough and not loved.
The Lord tells us in Psalms 27:10 “When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” Not that He might, or He’ll think about it or even if we’ve been good enough will He, but that HE WILL! Psalms 68: 5-6 says “A Father of the Fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His Holy habitation. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.”
Our God is our Father, and that’s all we need. We may not see Him face to face, be able to touch Him physically, but we can sense His touch. We can experience His hand protecting us, meeting our needs, and loving us unconditionally despite what we’ve done, said or thought. He is with us every second of the day and will be forever. We are His children because He gave His life for us- oh, what love He has for us. So, we are not “Daddy-less” we have a Father-the best kind ever! One day we will be running to Him saying “Daddy, Daddy” and He'll greet us with all the love He has for us, and us for Him.

Weekly Take Away:
It is a blessing if you had a Father who was full of love for you- thank God for that gift. If you are a person who had a father who didn't love you the way you should have been treated, or a father who you never knew, know that God sees. Know that God can and will heal your heart and will bring love and peace into your life if you let Him. I have been there and I can tell you from experience God truly can heal the brokenhearted. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, but it does mean that you can move forward in forgiveness and peace.
