When it has snowed quite a bit my kids want to hurry up and go out and play. So, I get out all the hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants and neck warmers. I always think there is so much to put on, but I know they will be warm and able to play like they want because they are being protected from the cold snow.
Ephesians 6: 11–17 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
So, if the word of God tells us what to put on for life’s journey it must be important, and we need to do it for our protection. We cannot go out into the world without protection, or we won’t make it. The next time your preparing to leave your home and you reach for your shoes and coat, ask yourself “Do I have everything on I need for protection today?”
Weekly Take Away:
One thing that we all battle is our minds. It seems a tiny thought can enter and it can very quickly ruin the whole day for us. We can totally lose sight of who we are and what the Bible says about us. Putting our " Amour" every day is crucial.
I have several members of my family who were in the military and I am thankful for their service. One thing to remember is each of them was trained to wear their "Protection" and trained to know how to use their weapons. Being on the front line of any battle without protection and or skill of knowing your weapon would not have been the safest, and it would not also protect those around them. They were given what was needed to protect them and they used it.

Same with us. We do have a enemy and he isn't going to leave us alone just because we're Christians. He knows he cant remove salvation from us, but he can attack us and we make it easier for him when we don't use our weaponry like we should. So this week take a look at this verse and the pieces God has given us and see if you need to make some adjustments.
