Thirsty and Dry

I have received many plants in my life, and honestly, I kill all of them. My intentions in the beginning are good and each time I think “I won’t kill this one” and eventually I do anyway. I was recently given another plant and thought “Oh I hope I don’t kill this.” I started faithfully watering it and then for several days forgot. My husband one day looked at the plant (Which by the way he was the one who gave it to me and said, “Your killing the plant I gave you-you better water it.” So, I did and noticed within an hour or two the leaves sprang up with life again. It looked uniformed and all together healthy and alive again. I instantly had new hope for my plant and was amazed at what a little bit of water could do and how quick it was to see results.

John 7:37-38 says “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He that believe on me as the scriptures hath said, out of his body shall flow rivers of living water.” Psalms 63:1 says “O God, thou are my God, I shall seek thee earnestly; my soul thirsts for thee, my flesh yearns for thee, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”

We do live in a dry and weary land at times. We need our thirsts quenched to revive us and bring us back up so we can fully be alive and continue to grow. So, the next time you see a plant that needs watering ask yourself “Do I also need some fresh living water from Christ for my mind, body and soul?” (Taken from God's Garden book)

Weekly Take Away:

As women, wives, mothers, daughters we are constantly giving and pouring into those around us. Women are very good at multitasking and sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. All of us need strength, wisdom, encouragement, love and peace and that only comes through God Almighty.

This week find a time where you can get alone with God and get "Watered....Refreshed...." Time with God will not only enable you do all He has asked of you, but it will also show you more of who He is. How He feels about you and most important how much He loves and values you.

Gift of Love

I heard a line in a Christmas movie once where a woman told a man that the first gift ever given was a child- meaning Jesus being born. It was a great movie, and that line is one that I will never for
