That Day

What did He think the day when they laid the cross upon His back? What do you think He said when they insisted someone else help? Do you think He thought it to be too much? Do you think He wished He’d never taken part?

Do you think the pain was more in His heart or on His back? Do you think it was His body that ached or worse yet His soul? Do you think the weight was more than He could bear or was it all the stares? Do you think halfway up He wanted to take it off? Do you think at that moment He wished that for this He had never been born? How about the blood that poured from every inch of His body? Do you think He regretted each drop that happened to fall to the ground? What about the flesh that from Him so loosely fell?

Do you think with each blow He wished to take it all back? How about the pain from the long piercing steel nails? Do you think with each hammer He wished to declare it all over? How about Him seeing the pain upon His dear Mother’s face? The one who He so dearly loved- do you think at that moment He wished none of it so? As He hung in high plain view do you think He regretted His choice? His choice to be beaten, mocked, flogged and so cruelly crucified? Do you think He would do it all over again? Do you think that just for you He would again give His life?

Oh, the love of Christ one cannot truly fathom. For the love that He displayed that day upon the cross you and I cannot understand. Most certainly He would again and again die if needed for you and for I. However, the price has been paid and now we all can be free, Holy, and sanctified. We now have the freedom to in eternity with Him one day live. That is why He chose willingly that day the nails, the crown, and the cross upon the hill. All out of His deep and passionate love for us all-His love for His children. So, as to what He thought that day as He was led to the place upon the hill-truly He thought of you and I. That is what was on His mind that day and still is...................

Gift of Love

I heard a line in a Christmas movie once where a woman told a man that the first gift ever given was a child- meaning Jesus being born. It was a great movie, and that line is one that I will never for
