Sit Still

If you have ever had to have some form of surgery, you know it can be very scary. It’s a combination of many factors. For some, it’s the anesthesia, of being “out.” Why? Because they are taken out of the equation, they have no control.

Some don’t like surgery because of the fear, “Will the doctor do a good job?” “Does he have enough experience?” “Will this surgery help me?” When they come in to give that anesthesia you have to totally say goodbye to your “control,” and put all your trust in those doctors and nurses.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

We need to let go of our own control in our lives. The Lord has wonderful plans for us and His way is always better than ours. So, there’s no need to worry, be afraid, or even try to figure it out. He’s in control! Us trying to be in control over our own lives can hinder what God has planned for us. We know that His word is true so we need to be still and know He is God, and it will all work out perfectly. It will work out so much better than we could ever do on our own because His ways are perfect. Perfect for each one of us.
