When you’re driving in your car there are so many rules out on the road. They range from signs that say, “stop, yield, no passing, danger, speed limit,” and then you have all the traffic lights. You are constantly reminded of what a responsibility driving is, and how you need to obey all of the rules for your safety and the safety of others. If those rules are broken, you and possibly someone else will be affected by it.
“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine” (Exodus 19:5).
“And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life” (1 Kings 3:14).
“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Honor thy Father and thy Mother. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s house” (Exodus 20:3-7).

If we obey all these commands from God, listen to His instructions daily as we seek Him, we will be blessed. Just as all the “Road Rules” that are out there, when we obey all of them were blessed. Blessed by no accidents or tickets that are our fault. With God, He promises to bless us as well. So, let’s be obedient in all things.
What About You?
Will you experience greater happiness by disregarding God’s commands than you would by obeying God?
Are you following God’s directions or your own way?
