Take a moment and think about what possessions you have and how you try to protect them.
When you leave your car, you roll up the windows and lock the doors. Some even take greater measures by installing an alarm on their vehicle.
Think about your home and about everything you have.
Things that have taken you years to collect.
Things that have special meaning and are precious to you.
When you go to bed at night you make sure all the blinds are closed, doors locked and dead-bolted, porch lights on, and for some, setting the house alarm. When you go to bed you have a sense of security that you are protected in case something were to happen.
Imagine if in your neighborhood there was a thief on the loose, primarily targeting your area. What would you do? Most likely you would do everything you normally would, but maybe you would be more watchful and a little more alert. After all, you wouldn’t want your family endangered, and your home being robbed and violated.
In this world, there is an enemy, a thief! He is constantly targeting our “areas” trying to kill, steal, and destroy.

In John 10:10 God’s word tells us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” 1 Peter 5:8 warns us, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
Satan is a robber. He wants to take everything we have. We must be aware and take precautions. We need to stand strong in the Lord and fight the good fight knowing our God is all-powerful.
Stand knowing God’s word is our protection, and when we follow in obedience, we will always have the victory in Christ’s name, for His name’s sake.
What About You?
Are there areas in your life Satan is attempting to rob you of your joy, faith, or trust?
In what ways can you defend yourself against the enemy?
