Mission Possible

The movies called Mission Impossible really stretch the imagination. They make people think, “There’s no way that could happen” – yet they find themselves clued to the movie. Many people enjoy movies like that even though they know it’s fictional. Somehow they get all caught up in the fantasy part of it all.

How about us though – do we really believe nothing is impossible to us as Gods children?

Matthew 19: 26 says this to us: “And looking upon them Jesus said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

We read this verse and can see the words but do we really truly believe the words? Do we really understand what God is telling us – do we receive it as our own?

Think back to Moses in the Old Testament – was the impossible made possible for him? He had many things happen that really blew people’s minds – probably even his own. He witnessed the Red Sea being parted, manna being sent from heaven to feed the people, and he witnessed water flowing out of a rock so they could have something to drink! Talk about the impossible being made possible – that outweighs anything Hollywood could muster up! These are just three examples though. The Bible is filled with many examples of the impossible being made possible.

To many times though we tend to view these things as “The past”. The thinking is “God doesn’t do things like that anymore”. I tell you the truth that we ourselves have put God in a box and have limited Him. God is still the same God today that He was in the Bible. The same God who makes all things possible and not just for them but for us as well. I myself know that nothing is impossible to us – nothing. My whole life God has continually shown me His faithfulness and power. We may not understand how God will work things out or even when – but He will. When God opens or closes a door they stay that way forever.

In God’s word we read over and over again of Gods faithfulness. We read some amazing and incredible stories. Stories that we just can’t fathom. Seeing the Red Sea parted, receiving food from heaven, and even getting water from a rock seem so impossible to us – but it happened.

The point is EXPECT THE IMPOSSIBLE!! Whatever God has planned for you to accomplish in this world He will equip you. He will make things happen that cannot be explained except it happened because of God.

1 Corinthians 1:25- 27 “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called; but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.”

God can do anything and He will. We just have to believe and have faith. God is looking for people who will believe and expect the impossible made possible.

Do not ever think “Oh, that could never happen” or “That is just too big to believe God for.” God tells us in Luke 1:45 “And blessed is she that believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”

Whatever God has shown you or spoken to you – believe it! It may seem totally illogical and impossible to you- but nothing is impossible for God to do. If you want to see more of the impossible made possible than I dare you to just believe and watch your mission made possible!
