It's Your Choice

It seems like it’s getting more difficult to just go out for dinner. There are so many restaurants anymore. How do you choose? There are so many places to eat now, each one offering something different. Then if you go out with another couple, it can become much harder to make a decision because everyone’s tastes differ. Who would have thought going to dinner could be such a major decision?
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
Life is so full of choices that we make, good and bad. We have to know we will be affected by the decisions and choices we make, and so will others. Our choices don’t just affect us; they affect the others around us.

“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all d ay long” (Psalms 25:5).
The Lord will lead us into the truth and the right path. He will give us wisdom concerning the choices we have to make. We need to seek the Lord always, and think before we choose, “Is this a good choice, or is it a choice I’m going to regret?” We need to think beyond that single moment, and think farther down the road of how it will affect the Lord, others, and us.
What About You?
When faced with a decision do you first ask yourself, “what does the Bible say about it?”
Are you willing to pray and ask God what He desires in spite of what your desires might be?
