Sometimes it's nice and so needed to get out of the house. To get in the car and just go for a ride. Going nowhere in particular – just out for a drive. My husband and I do that from time to time and it is very relaxing!
Abraham also had an experience where he was getting out. However, his getting out was not his idea- it was God's. The story of Abraham leaving his town is found in Genesis 12:1-4. The story goes as follows: 'Now the Lord said to Abram "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." So Abram went as the Lord had told; and Lot went with him.
Now seriously think about what took place in these 4 verses. God tells Abram to get up, leave his home, family, friends, and whatever means he had to support his family. He was to leave everything behind him that was comfortable, familiar, and set out for a place that God would show him later. The amazing part of this story is that Abram went. Imagine him going to his wife that day and saying, "Honey, God has spoken to me, and has said we are to pack up and leave and go to where God will show us to go." I bet that conversation was very interesting!!
You see the faith of Abram was what I like to call “Crazy Faith." No discussion or debating going on between Abram and God. Abram just did as God had told him to do- no questions asked…Wow! Abram had no idea of how anything was going to be in his life, but he had faith his God would supply all of his family's needs. He also had the faith that when God says, "I will bless you" as He did to him, that God meant it, and Abram was blessed along with his family as time went on. One of the things to also take away from this story is that God spoke, Abraham listened, and God blessed him as he said He would.
God requires us all to “Move” at some point in our lives. He will ask us to do something that requires that “Crazy faith." That "Crazy faith" that will require us to get out of our comfort zones and walk further into our God-given destinies. God shows us with this story that even though He asks us to move, it always leads to an abundance of blessings if we obey. We may not know all the details in the beginning, but we do not need to know. We only must be willing to "Go in faith" when He asks us to. Everybody's situation will always be different, however, be willing to go and do whatever God Almighty asks you to. When going in that kind of faith is when you experience the blessings and goodness of God. If you choose not to go, then you will always stay where you are, and I believe God is always challenging us to take that next step. We must realize when God asks or tells us to "Go in faith" He knows the plan and the plan is always better than where we may be now. It may come as a shock as to what God is telling us to do, but there needs to be no hesitation- just like Abram. To take that next step for ourselves, for God and His kingdom is critical- so go!! Go forth in faith- go in that crazy faith and be prepared to be blessed by God in every avenue of your life.
