Friends

When children first start school, it is a scary thing for them. They are leaving their home for the first time and going to a new place filled with a room full of faces they do not know. We tell them they will be ok, smile and to be nice to everyone and that we are sure they will make friends. Usually after the first couple of days they make a few friends and can handle going to school better because of their new friendships

Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly; and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

Friendships are important in our lives and we need them. Friends that stick with you through good and bad, ups and downs are truly a gift from God.

If we were to take our own advice that we give to our children on their first day of school, we just might find some of the best friendships we have ever had. Friends that will stick closer than a brother!

So while we need to work on being friendly, more compassionate, kind and aware of others, let's also allow those who love us to do nice things for us.
