Forgiveness

Since we are not perfect and are human it’s safe to say we have done or said something that has hurt or offended someone. We all have had to say, “I’m sorry.” Imagine if every person we have ever wronged chose not to accept our apology, and continued to stay angry with us.

“And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).

If we take a look at our lives and how many times we’ve asked the Lord to forgive us, it would amaze us. What if the Lord said to us, “No, I don’t forgive you”? In the same way we need and desire to be forgiven, we must also forgive others. By doing this we are obeying God’s word.

If we don’t forgive others it will implant bitterness into our hearts, and bitterness is not a fruit of the spirit. You see forgiveness keeps our “temple” free of all that shouldn’t be there. If we obey God and forgive others then we also receive a blessing back.
